There are things parents think they would need once their newborn baby arrives. However, some parents believe that there are things that may only seem like necessary, but are entirely the opposite. These things, according to some parenting sites, should be taken off the gift registry. Some of the items may seem like a surprise to some parents.

1. Bottle Warmer

A bottle warmer seems like valuable equipment when taking care of a newborn baby. Though this is one of the gifts most people choose, some parents think that this will only take up space in the house.

The function of this equipment can be done with warm water in a bowl, so having a bottle warmer is not necessary.

2. Shoes and Baby Clothes

Dressing up is a good thing to do to a newborn baby. Receiving clothes and shoes for the baby may also sound exciting, but these items can be something that might not fit the baby or are too big. Putting them in the registry for the newborn baby might cause frustration to parents.

3. Feeding Bottles

A newborn baby will only use one bottle at once. If a mother is breastfeeding, a feeding bottle might only be stocked in the house. Also, every newborn baby at each stage of development uses a specific nipple flow design.

Having too many bottles will only take up space, putting most of it to waste at some point.

4. Toys

A newborn baby does not realize the joy brought by toys. It would take a few more months before they would need or want toys.

Until such time, toys are of no use to a newborn baby.

5. Baby Blankets

Experts say that there should be no items in a newborn baby's crib that can cause suffocation to babies. Blankets that will only remain draped over a chair will only collect dust that could, later on, be a choking hazard to a baby.

Newborn babies do not need fancy blankets; mainly because these items will only be pooped or peed on by babies.

6. Hair Brush

During the first months of a newborn baby, there will be not much hair to comb. That is why it is a little irrational to get a hairbrush for the baby.

7. Diapers

Since the gifts will arrive at a time when your baby is so little, diapers might be something the newborn baby will outgrow.

Newborn-size diapers should no longer be part of the registry because parents might waste most of them.

Although it is a necessary item, having too much should stop the parents from considering it.

8. Changing Table

As parents go through the days of taking care of their newborn baby, they will also realize the essence of multifunctionality.

A changing table might just be serving one purpose and take up too much space in the house. A drawer or cabinet for clothes could be a better option than a single-functioned changing table.
