Saturday Night Live: Kristen Wiig Welcomes Twins Via Surrogate with Fiance Avi Rothman

Earlier this year, Kristen Wiig and fiance Avi Rothman welcomed their twins by a surrogate, according to Us Weekly. Speculations about Wiig becoming a mom started in May when she left a Mother's Day message to her mom.

While hosting "Saturday Night Live" in May, the 46-year-old new mom dropped hints about her being a mom. Wiig thanked her mom, Laurie Johnston, in a Mother's Day-themed sketch, for the love and advice. She is not sure if she genuinely appreciated her mom for the first 45 years of her life.

Wiig is grateful to her mom

This year, the comedienne said that she is feeling especially grateful for her mom's advice and love. She is thankful to her mom for what she has taught her. Her mom prepared her to become a mom herself.

Her mom taught her about things like breastfeeding. She then lifted a plate with cooked chicken breasts saying that babies love chicken, echoing her mom's words.

The "Bridesmaids" star said in her show that they are celebrating Mother's Day. Sadly, she could not be with her mom on the day. She left her mom a message saying that she loves her.

Wiig and Rothman's secret relationship

In August 2019, People confirmed that Wiig got engaged to Rothman. A source first saw the couple together in 2016, but they kept their relationship hidden from the camera. At that time, they were in Kauai, Hawaii, showing PDA.

The source told People that the pair have been dating for a few months. The source said that the two are happy together.

Rothman trained at the Groundlings theater in Los Angeles, where Wiig studied. He is an actor, writer, producer, and director. He directed the "Bunion", a short film premiered in 2015 at the WILDsound Film Festival.

Before, he makes comedy videos on YouTube. One of them is his series "Ogden the Inappropriate Yoga Guy." In 2010, he told "The Laugh Button" that he based the character on the series on his interest in yoga.

The "Ghostbusters" star said that his sister got him into doing yoga about seven years ago. He admitted that he got addicted to it once, where he attended the class five times a week.

In 2005, the New York native got married to Hayes Hargrove, but they got divorced in 2009. In 2012, Wiig started dating Fabrizio Moretti, the drummer of "The Strokes." In July 2013, Us reported that the pair split.

Kristen Wiig as a surrogate mom in a drama film

Six years ago, Wiig had a drama film "Nasty Baby," where she offered herself as a surrogate mom. Her character Polly had two best friends and a gay couple, Freddy and Mo. The couple wanted to start a family, so Wiig's character offered herself to become the baby's vessel.

Wiig's character, Polly, was interested in having a baby rather than a man, so she took the chance to become a mom by a surrogate.
