A month ago, Kristen Bell revealed that her five-year-old daughter is still wearing diapers when sleeping. People's mommy shaming on her post pushed her to potty train her daughter.
During an interview, the 39-year-old actress was with her husband, Dax Shepard, when she shared updates. She said that her daughter, Delta, is not wearing diapers anymore. She also said that people were not supportive of her when she started talking about her daughter wearing diapers. Two weeks later, they pushed their daughter a little farther.
Mommy shaming pushed Bell to potty train
The interviewer questioned Bell's framing of what had happened. In truth, many people have called her out online, mommy shaming her. She said that the Twitterverse was awful to her. She saw a lot of mommy shame, which does not interest her.
She said that she kept answering people that every child is different. She could not deny that she has a five-and-a-half-year-old who wets her bed sometimes. It was okay for her because she knows that her daughter is getting there.
How they started potty training
The actress shared what they did so that Delta would not make accidents at night. They wake the little girl at about 11 in the evening. They would put her on the toilet even if she is like a zombie. Shepard even joked, saying that they put a wet spaghetti noodle on the toilet once every night.
Even though Bell pushed their child further, she still believes that no one should be ashamed about their parenting style. She said that parents should not feel bad if their child has an irregular pattern in potty training. She even said that if anyone wants to try their potty training style, they should not be ashamed.
The mother of two also said that some kids take until older than five before they bid goodbye to diapers. The good news is that there is not one high schooler who wets their pants all day. She believes that it is going to stop at some point.
Bell and Shepard staying home with kids
Bell's husband shared about how they spend their days at home with their kids. He said they feel like in the twilight zone because the days fly by. They could not believe that June is over. He also shared that they usually work a lot, but they make it a point to go on family vacations.
Now that they have to practice social distancing, Shepard said that they are missing out on a lot. All the season markers are passing by so fast. Even so, he explained that they are having so much fun with their girls. Bell is also glad that they could spend more time together while their kids are still young.
