Rihanna is not pregnant and is suffering from flu and laryngitis, sources close to the singer told Hollywood Life.
After cancelling her fourth concert in her current world tour due to illness, rumors were rife about Rihanna and Chris Brown expecting their first child. Pictures of her visiting a doctor in the media added to the speculations.
Apologising to her fans on Instagram, the 25-year-old said she was sad and disappointed to cancel the concerts.
"Rihanna is just sick, and that's really it. I know, that's not a good enough reason because everybody wants some drama and the rumours that she's pregnant to make the rounds, but sorry, not this time. She's not pregnant!" a source told Hollywood Life. Previous reports said that her sickness was a cover up for her pregnancy news.
In an interview to Elle UK in April, she had admitted that her future plans do include a child. "I will probably have a kid... and I'm praying I can go on vacation for a good month."
Rihanna reunited with her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown in January but the relationship is stormy with constant on and off again rumors.
Earlier this year, in an interview, Rihanna said that she did not have any regrets about reuniting with Brown. "I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake," Rihanna said. "After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."
She also said that if Brown showed any signs of abusiveness again, she will not tolerate it. "He doesn't have the luxury of f**king up again," she said. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."
