The duty of a nurse does not pick a time or date. When someone needs help, it is a nurse's instinct to jump and respond to the call, even when she is still wearing her wedding dress.
Last Father's Day, Rachel Taylor was driving home with her husband, Calvin, when they saw cars piled up.
Rachel thought the people involved in the accident needed help, so they stopped and attended to them.

What caused the accident?
According to Tammy Peterson, the woman that Rachel had to attend to, she was only at the incident to check on the fender of his son's car. However, while in the vicinity, Peterson's car got ran into the back by another vehicle. Because of this, Peterson got injured.
In an interview with CBS Minnesota, Peterson shared, "Just like that other accident happened and I was there."
After the accident, Tammy woke up and saw Rachel, who introduced herself as a nurse and was still in her wedding dress.
How did the nurse still wearing the wedding dress help?
When Rachel saw Tammy at the site of the accident, Rachel tried to keep the latter calm.
While doing so, Rachel had a flashback of her experiences in nursing school. She said it was like she was trying to help moms who were in labor.
Rachel shares, "I got pretty good at talking them through and calming them down." That is why she did the same to Peterson.
Tammy said that the nurse wearing her wedding dress, was a big help in going through her trauma from the accident. "I think she helped save my life, even more, you know, just physically and mentally being there at that time."
Hours after the Wedding Ceremony
Rachel and Calvin were driving home from their wedding. The couple was only a few hours married when they got stopped for Rachel's call of duty. Rachel did not hesitate even if she was still wearing her wedding dress.
Calvin called 911 while Rachel, on the other hand, held Tammy and talked to her while waiting for the paramedics to arrive. She put into work her medical skills as a nurse. It took almost 15 minutes for the EMT to arrive and got Tammy into a stretcher.
In a Facebook post, Calvin shared how proud she is of his wife. He said, "I am so blessed to have a wonderful wife who will always take care of people who need it."
Calvin also shared that he is still blown away by how confident her wife was in a very scary situation. He also said that he is excited for his wife to make a difference in the medical field.
Tammy is very thankful to the couple and wishes that they are having a good time on their honeymoon.
