Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder are now under media scrutiny as divorce rumors involving the low-key couple are circulating. With rumors of their impending separating hounding the married life of the two, the Pretty Woman actress took it upon herself to defend her marriage and the life she built with Moder. The two have been married for 13 years and share three children, namely, twins Finn and Hazel, aged 10, and Henry, 8. Roberts and Moder tied the knot in 2002.
"I don't know if I would have succeeded in some of the efforts that I made if he hadn't been in such close physical proximity to me," shared Roberts, referring to the support and love extended to him by Moder, according to Radar Online. The 47-year-old actress went on to say, "There's something about having the safest place in the world for you in the same room."
Meanwhile, the interview of Roberts with Allure Magazine disclosed some aspects of her personal life including the lessons she would like to impart to her children - one that has been passed down to her by her own parents. She shared, "My mom worked really hard outside of the home, and she worked really hard inside of the home." Roberts went on to reveal, "She was a phenomenal cook, made everything from scratch. Our house was always tidy; our clothes were always clean. I take a great joy in homemaking."
As for her career choice if Hollywood had not been kind to her, Roberts revealed that she would aspire to become a painter or writer. The Mother's Day star disclosed, "I would be a great writer or painter. It's the creating something out of nothing that I find astounding." The Eat, Pray, Love actress further stated, "The Year of Magical Thinking [by Joan Didion], I read that not that long ago. I would put it down and just lie there in bed. My husband was like, 'Are you OK?'"
In connection with her husband and the happiness the two share in their marriage, Roberts shared that she and Moder are content with their lives. In fact, her widely famous smile is a reflection of her current status in life - that is, she is at ease and at home with herself and her world. "I am a genuinely and deeply happy person, which, as life goes on, you realize what great fortune that is," Roberts said via Us Weekly. She added, "To feel like you just have the natural chemistry of joy."
