Baby cries and laughter may once again be heard in the Jolie-Pitt household, as there are rumors that Brad Pitt, 51, and Angelina Jolie, 40, are finalizing the adoption of a Syrian orphan. According to Radar Online, Angelina met three Syrian orphan brothers during one of her humanitarian trip with the United Nations.
"Angelina was heartbroken to learn the three of them had seen their father taken away by Syrian soldiers, and their home was also bombed. And they lost their mother in the bombing," said the source, according to InTouch Weekly.
Initially, the Hollywood actress wanted to take the three boys home, but Brad didn't agree, the report stated. "Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their six other kids. But Angie didn't put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn't work."
The report went on to say that it's not yet clear which of the boys will be adopted by the couple, but one of them could "speak some English" and was instantly attached to Angie during her visit. However, the adoption process is taking a while. "The red tape has been almost impossible at times. It could take at least another four to five months before the child is brought to the United States," said the source.
Meanwhile, Angelina's eldest adopted child, Maddox, 14, is reportedly planning to get into acting just like his parents. As previously reported on Parent Herald, the teenager is joining the Netflix film, "First They Killed My Father," which will be directed by his mother.
"(Maddox) has been desperate to get into acting. This is a dream come true for him. He's read the book the film's based on and speaks the language—it's a perfect fit," a source told OK! Magazine, according to Yahoo. While it's still not known what part Maddox will play, Hollywood Life said that this will be Maddox's first major role.
But the Associated Press reported back in July and right before Maddox's birthday that Angelina asked her son to help with the film's research and preparation. "As Maddox and I prepare the film we will be side by side learning about his country. He is turning 14 next week and this is a very important time for him to understand who he is. He is my son but he is also a son of Cambodia."
