They play lovers on "The Big Bang Theory" and they used to date in real life, but Kaley Cuoco Sweeting said that her relationship with ex and co-star Johnny Galecki isn't a problem with her real life husband, Ryan Sweeting.
Appearing on "Watch What Happens Live" last Sunday, Kaley said that she's been quite lucky that the man in her life likes the man from her past. "We dated like five years ago, so I think everyone's moved on," said Kaley, according to People.
"Ryan loves him, Johnny loves him. It's been a long time, so it's great," the actress added. "I got lucky. It could have been horrible."
Kaley also said that she considers Johnny one of her best friends despite not working out as a couple. According to US Weekly, they dated from 2007 to 2010 and never told anyone about the relationship.
"It was such a huge part of my life and no one knew about it. This is the first time I've ever talked about it, ever. It was a wonderful relationship, but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together," the actress said when she discussed the relationship to CBS Watch Magazine back in 2010.
Johnny also opened up about their relationship in a 2013 interview saying, "I just don't like to speak about it. And not because I'm trying to be enigmatic; I just worry that it will conflict with people's acceptance of [our BBT characters] Leonard and Penny. I get the curiosity, but I don't want to distract from the story," Jonny said in another issue of CBS Watch Magazine. He also considers Kaley his best friend and a huge part of his life.
Meanwhile, on "The Big Bang Theory," their characters, Penny and Leonard, finally got married on the show's return for season 9. In the latest episode, which aired Sept. 21, the TV couple had a Las Vegas ceremony. However, the marriage isn't off to a great start, as The Hollywood Reporter recapped that when they got home, Penny and Leonard each spent their wedding night in their own apartments.
It turns out that Melissa, the girl Leonard kissed during a rough time in their relationship two years ago, is still working at the university. To make matters worse, Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons) told Penny that Melissa is "brilliant and attractive."
"The Big Bang Theory" airs every Monday this fall on CBS.
