There is a growing hype about the anticipated film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" as the film's release date approaches. Those who love "Man of Steel" will definitely love "Batman v Superman." Here's why.
Director Zack Snyder was talking with aspiring filmmakers giving them hopes that one day they will helm their own superhero film. Snyder will be mentoring the lucky winner of the 10th annual Crash the Super Bowl competition. On the said event, Canoe.com had the chance to interview him.
The interview includes the different projects Snyder did and Steven Spielberg's remarks about the oversaturation of the superhero films. As a response, Snyder said that the pressure is on the filmmakers to make the movie better. "It's about human stories; it's not just about big explosions and stuff. What are these people feeling," he said.
They also talked about the upcoming DC superhero films like Justice League, where Snyder is slated to helm the two-part film. He said that they have to "figure the why" in the characters and mentioned his other film "Dawn of Justice."
"That's the one thing that's cool to me about Batman v Superman, it's all about the mythology of these two massive icons. And I think that's compelling," said Snyder.
He was asked if "Man of Steel 2" has something to do with "Batman V Superman" and his reply was a revelation. "I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2," Snyder said, hinting that a standalone Superman sequel is not DC's priority for now. "Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It'd be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be."
CinemaBlend seems to agree with Snyder. The report says, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice certainly feels like a direct follow up to Man of Steel," citing the footage shown in the trailers where the world is staggering after the devastation brought by General Zod's army.
However, Batman just like the other world leaders, is holding Kal-El responsible for at least some of the destruction, for instance the Metropolis destruction. The film will focus on the new Dark Knight, which is probably why his name appears in the title first.
"Batman V Superman: Daw of Justice" features Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Caville as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jessie Eisenberg as the popular supervillain Lex Luthor. Jason Momoa will make his debut in the film as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit the big screens on March 25, 2016.
