A Louisiana father and daughter lived to tell their story after a tree crashed through their Louisiana home during Hurricane Delta and almost crushed them.

Thomas Dunn, Coral Anne Dunn, father, and daughter, said they were sitting on two of their reclining chairs on Friday when the roof came down, trapping them under the rubble.

Coral Anne Dunn sheds tears of joy while hugging her sister and neighbor. They were all thankful that the Louisiana father and daughter survived a tree crashing through their home during Hurricane Delta.

Coral Anne said that God indeed is good because there is no other reason to be alive at this point. She added that God put his hand down and said that it is not her time to go yet.

The two reclining chairs were now covered in debris. These chairs were where the Louisiana father and daughter had been sitting when the rood crashed.

U.S. Navy veteran and Coral Anne's father, Thomas Dunn, said that the next thing he knew, the tree was already on top of them. The father added that he spent the next scary moments screaming to get Coral Anne, his daughter's attention.

The father also said that he knew that he was okay, but then her daughter, who was sitting right beside him, was not. The fact that he could not hear her daughter for a while made Thomas even worried.

On the other hand, Coral Anne shared that she was blacked out for a brief moment, but then she woke up to see her father buried deep under the rubble.

The daughter said that she was not ready to lose her dad, and at that time, she thought she had. She felt that her father was dead.

Luckily, Coral Anne's daughter was inside their home when the accident happened during the Hurricane Delta and was able to call 911 for help. The help arrived quickly and was able to pull the father and daughter from the rubble.

Thomas recalls that the crew came in and got them out with the jaws of life, and nowhere they are, out of the rubble and alive.

Coral Anne also recalls what happened and said that the crew got her out, and they were both safe. She added that what happened to them can happen to anybody. The only thing is you won't think that it will happen to you.

Fortunately for the Louisiana father and daughter, the two walked away with only minor injuries and received medical treatment. Coral Anne said that they have also walked away with an even more significant impact, which is overwhelming support from their community.

Coral Anne stated that there are still good people in the world. She added that even those people they don't know had helped them out, which means a lot to them.

The Dunns are now staying in a hotel. They are paying those expenses out of their pockets as they wait for assistance. That is like how so many others are doing after Hurricane Delta. However, the most important thing is that they are alive and have each other for them.
