A child chokes at the drive-thru in Georgia, and immediately, a fast-food chain employee comes to rescue.
It was a regular shift at the Chick-Fil-A drive-thru this week for the fast-food chain employee Zack "Cowboy" Kokenzie until a child began choking.
The child chokes in the car.
Based on the Chick-Fil-A Manchester Expressway page, Kokenzie heard hysterical cries coming from an SUV just outside the drive-thru's windows when he knew he needed to act.
The SUV driver ran to the back seat, where his child was choking because the seat belt had become wrapped around the child's windpipe. Another driver came over to help the child's father remove the seat belt, but they could not free them.
The employee is an Eagle scout.
Kokenzie, who is an Eagle Scout and is CPR certified, rushed to the scene. After seeing the situation, the fast-food chain employee found out that the child's seat belt had become wrapped around their neck. And using a pair of scissors from inside the store, Kokenzie and the other employee who helped him, Zachary Bullock, were able to cut the seat belt wrapped around the child's neck. As the child chokes, a rescue was given quickly because of the team and their quick response to the situation.
Alex Vann, the store owner, and the operator said that Zack and their team acted quickly in helping a child from a life-threatening situation. He added that he is proud of Zack, Justine, and their team for quick thinking and quick responses when they saw the child chokes in the car.
Van also said that the scene could have been far worse, but the fast-food chain employees were in the right place, with the proper training and the right attitude to help save one of their customers' lives. He added that they were glad that everyone is alright.
The "Cowboy"
Based on the Facebook post, the fast-food chain employee, Kokenzie, who goes by the name "Cowboy," was outside the Chick-Fil-A's location's dining room close, ensuring that their drive-thru is staying busy. The Facebook post also said that they have multiple fast-food chain employees and team members around the building to have those quick services.
The post also explained the reason behind Kokenzie's nickname, "Cowboy." The reason was that the fast-food chain employee almost broke a finger recently while he was riding a horse that tried to buck him.
Clearly, in this situation, Kokenzie showed and embodied the Boy Scout motto of "Be Prepared." Not only was he able to fulfill his duty in serving their customers, but he and the other employees were also able to do just that, and even more. Kokenzie's bravery and preparedness only show how there are still good people in this world, despite everything happening.
