Two Nebraska fourth-grader boys return the stolen purse to a woman three years after. They went to her after finding the stolen thing near a creek.
Unexpected Find
NBC affiliate WOWT reported that Mallory Pittman-Morris never expected it to happen. After losing the bag for three years, she did not think she could reunite with it again. She watched her son play soccer three years ago when suddenly, someone smashed her car window and took it.
On Sunday afternoon, Eli Rempe and Sam Yarpe knocked on her door. The two were holding the same purse, which completely blew her away. Pittman-Morris told the local outlet that she never thought to see those things again.
Missing for 3 years
She saw the glowing excitement of the two fourth-graders for having found something like that. She explained to the duo that stuff had been missing for three years.
Rempe and Yarpe were playing at the Papillion Soccer Fields near a creek earlier that day. They stumbled upon the purse, and Rempe told WOWT that there were many dirty items inside the bag.
Finding the Purse
He shared that they felt it was cool about finding the little river, so they walked around until they found a purse. According to the outlet, the creek was not too far from where Pittman-Morris had her car broken into years ago.
The owner of the bag said that she felt vulnerable, thinking that someone has her belongings all this time. Pittman-Morris told the outlet that she was worried someone was going to use her cards and her identity.
Finding the Owner
The two boys decided to find the Papillion woman after finding the purse. They want to return her bag. Rempe said that they felt it was nice to return something to someone who had lost all those stuff.
Yarpe also noted that his mom said it is hard to replace credit cards and other things after knowing that the owner had lots of cards in her missing purse. WOWT reported that with the help of a parent, the boys had found the owner through Facebook.
