A Ryanair passenger foots the £50 bill for a stressed mother-of-three at the Ibiza Airport while a fellow passenger captured his good deed on camera.
A mom who was attempting to board a flight to the Stansted airport with her kids was told by the staff that her bag was too big to be carried on the plane and so was charged for a baggage fee. A fellow passenger was able to capture the moment when a good samaritan stepped in to pay the bill for her.
"Don't worry, "I'll pay for you."
In the video, the mom was visibly stressed while her kids were chasing each other. Seeing the woman looking anxious, the man approached her and said, "It's alright, it's alright." As the woman was about to cry and anxiously runs her fingers through her hair, the man reassured her and told her not to worry. "I'll pay for you."
The man then went to the counter and handed his credit card to pay. He then asked the lady at the desk if there was a recent change in their policy for baggage allowance size while the older of the mother's child tries to calm his brother. "Mama is upset," the kid told his younger brother. The video ends with the man waiting for his payment to be processed.
"Well done to this young hero."
The clip of the kind-hearted man was shared on Twitter. "Well done to this young hero," writes the Twitter user, "for paying the ridiculous Ryanair baggage charges for a distressed mother travelling with 3 kids (who wasn't getting any leniency from ground staff)."
"The flight from Ibiza to Stansted was half empty, not sure what difference a few cm would make," he continued. According to a report, Ryanair's cabin baggage rules states that luggage should fit under the seat in front and should be no bigger than 40 x 20 x 25 cm in size.
So far, the video has 34,000 views and hundreds have retweeted the post. People who have viewed it were praising the man for his act of kindness.
"What a great caring human being.......more of us should learn to do the same," one user commented.
"This young man and others in the younger generations have restored my faith in humanity, they will steer the future right if we allow them the room to shine #StanstedHero," another one said.
"Fantastic stuff. Well done young man," writes another.
Then the man who shared the video also commented, "Great kid isn't he...no idea who he is though, kept himself to himself and acted honourably & discretely without a fuss."
He explained that as far as he could tell, the mother had got caught out with baggage that exceeded the allowance on their ticket. That got her upset and tearful while still trying to keep an eye on her children.
