10-month-old Baby Who Was in the Back Seat When the Car Was Stolen, Found Safe and Unharmed

A 10-month-old baby was in the back seat when a car was stolen in Ogden. The baby was found safe and unharmed in Plain City. The people who stole the car were later on arrested.

According to the chief of Ogden police, Randy Watt, the baby is safe and had quite a ride. The 10-month-old baby was left on a porch in Plain City.


The car got stolen

At around 10:45 in the morning, the car was taken while it was outside a residential driveway. According to the police report, the baby's mother was in the home of a friend when the incident happened. The mom left the baby in the backseat of the car with an adult.

However, the adult who was watching the baby also left the car and went inside the home of their friend. The other adult left for a few minutes with the baby's mother. The 10-month-old baby was left in the backseat and when they returned, the car was stolen along with the baby.

The people who stole the car took off to Plain City.

The baby was found safe and unharmed

At around 12:37 in the afternoon, a witness saw that baby was being place on the porch of a house in Plain City, which was only 18 minutes away from Ogden.

Fortunately, the baby was not harmed and was safely recovered by the authorities.

According to the police, there is still no known connection between the suspects and the owner of the home where the 10-month-old baby was left.


The suspects

The police from Weber County tried to stop the suspects. However, they sped away, which led to authorities chasing the suspect through a helicopter.

The car was followed until they went offroad. When the persons who stole the car ended on the offroad, they started to flee on foot. That is when the Weber County and Ogden police officers were able to arrest the suspects.


The charges and motives

There is still no known motives as to why the suspects stole the car. The authorities are still questioning the perpetrators regarding the reason behind the stealing.

Also, police are trying to know if the suspects have an idea of who the baby was. Police are also investigating if the suspects knew that the baby was in there when they took the car.

According to Chief Watt of the Ogden Police, they are still finalizing the charges against the suspects. These charges would include auto theft and child kidnapping.
