Father and son Eugene and Dan Levy recently received an award from Entertainment Weekly. The duo was named at the 2020 Entertainers of the Year. This came in the aftermath of the success of their co-creation, Schitt's Creek.
The Canadian television sitcom is a creation of Dan Levy with his father, Eugene Levy. It aired on CBC television from January 13, 2015, and ended April 7, 2020, after 80 episodes and six seasons.
In a 5-minute video, the duo was seen thanking fans for their support as they were seen wearing adorable matching spectacles. Dan reveals that while he does not end every conversation with the four-letter-word, he says the strength of their bond is undeniable.
Dan credits their relationship to his father. He reveals how Eugene always shows constant and unconditional support, Scary Mommy reported.
Dan also shared how he never felt he needed to explain himself or prove himself to his dad. "That is the kind of support every father needs to give to their son," Dan shares. Most importantly, such support bears even more weight when the son is queer or gay, Dan added.

Dan was in tears when he and his father accepted the "Outstanding Comedy Series" award for Schitt's Creek at the 2020 Emmy awards.
Eugene Levy spoke highly of his son's work, thanking him for how he was able to transform their idea into "a declaration of the power of love, a celebration of inclusivity, and a castigation of homophobia."
When it was Dan's turn to make a speech, he joked about how his dad was sometimes a little too supportive. He recalls the time Eugene would sit by the monitors like a stage parent to Dan and his sister Sarah Levy who is also part of the show.
Eugene Levy's On-Screen Son Gets Jealous
Jason Biggs is Eugene Levy's on-screen son in the movie American Pie. He revealed how he felt a little jealous watching Dan and Eugene at the 2020 Emmy awards. Their father-and-son bond was undeniable, so much so that it made Biggs say he was a little jealous, People reported.
Biggs left a comment on Entertainment Weekly's Instagram post. He called Dan and Eugene, the best comedy/fashion/father-son-pairing. He added that the duo deserves every praise they are getting.
Biggs capped off his comment by sending love to the father-and-son duo.

Eugene talked about how he felt he needed to mentor his son both in writing and performing. But, when he realized he did not have to do that, he reveals how he took a step back and treated his son as an equal partner.
The supportive dad showed how he could trust his sons' skills despite being the senior member of the hit show. It was later evident in Dan's speech that this support is something that every son needs.
