The California-based aquarium shared live feeds daily when it closed its doors to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic, Parents reported.

Shedd Aquarium

Located in Chicago, the aquarium featured videos of penguins on social media while it closed for health and safety measures. Edward and Annie the penguins were shown exploring the rotunda of the aquarium.

Seaworld Orlando

An interactive map of the city of Orlando takes visitors on a virtual tour of Seaworld. Families can explore the different attractions and enjoy the amazing views of sea life from the comfort of their home. For a totally immersive experience, go for a VR headset.

Seaworld Orlando also shared videos of the sea animals, the park, and feeding of the sea creatures on their YouTube site, Today reported.

Central Caribbean Marine Institute

The institute offered free interactive learning modules in their "Reefs Go Live" program. Explore the underwater as well as gain access to educational materials about sea life. They also hosted LIVE Q&A's with renowned scientists.

Pier 39 Aquarium of the Bay

Recently, the San Francisco-based aquarium was forced to close starting December 6. Their closure came in accordance with the stay-at-home order.

In this light, George Jacob, president of the aquarium decided to offer online experiences. They have highlights of the aquarium for the public to view.

The aquarium's Facebook followers can enjoy virtual tours and live streams. They also have exclusive behind-the-scenes tours.

At a time when field trips are generally avoided, the Aquarium of the Bay also launched e-learning modules for children to study at home.

SC Aquarium

The Sea Life by Starlight Auction will kick off only virtually this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Facebook and Instagram followers of SC aquarium can tune into social media at 11 am on weekdays for a livestream of the Sea Turtle Care Center, Count on News 2 reported.

Items are auctioned for bidding at such livestreams. The proceeds are for the benefit of the life-saving efforts of the Sea Turtle Care Center.
