A UPS worker was left in tears after reading his son's Santa letter and knowing what his Christmas wish is.

For most kids, it can be expected that they will want the latest and most advanced toys and gadgets as their Christmas wish, but not this young boy, Jonah. For this young boy, all he wanted for his Christmas wish is to spend a little more time with his father. He wrote this specifically on his Santa letter, hoping that the big, white-bearded man can help him fulfill his wish.

The son's Christmas wish

The kid wrote that his dad works for a global shipping company and has been working a lot of hours since people are also busy buying tons of gifts for the coming Christmas.

Jonah, in his Santa letter, explained his Christmas wish, in which he said that if only Santa could help his dad out with deliveries, his father will have more time to spend with them and can be home in time for Christmas.

Dad left in tears

After the UPS worker's father read his Santa letter that contains his son's Christmas wish, he admitted that he broke down in tears, not to mention that he also realized that he needed to spend more time to be with his kid and to stay more at home.

He shared the heartwarming letter to Reddit with a caption, "I'm a UPS driver and I cried when I opened up our son's letter to Santa. This letter opened up my eyes on some things."

Jonah's Santa letter reads, "Dear Santa, I would like to spend more time with dad, so I would appreciate it if you could get him off work early. Because he is a UPS worker and people are ordering so many presents, so I would love it if you could help him in any way."

Netizens' reactions

The touching letter has over 300,000 comments, as people sympathized with the dad's work.

One fellow dad, who was also a UPS worker before, said that he can only imagine how it feels since he had been there before. He also added that guys like Jonah's father work for long and hard hours.

Another person also commented saying that they can relate to him. The person is a warehouse worker and since March had been working 6 days per week. Because of this, the person can only cry once at home and can finally hold their kids.

One person even proposed an idea that the UPS worker dad should show the letter to his boss as it might help his chances of getting some time off, while another person said that every parent should also read the note.

People wrote that they hope others understand that kids sometimes just want simple things. That it can be so easy to get off of a 12 hours shift and ask why their child is not asleep and why they can't just have 10 minutes for themselves to relax.

Cases like these only means that their children are awake because they want that 10 minutes with their parents, and that it is the most important thing in the world for them. Keeping in mind that many years from now, they will remember it, and they will remember it by not just a random day.
