There is a growing hype about the upcoming eight installment of the popular street-racing hit series "Fast and Furious." The recent reports suggest that the "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" lead star Angelina Jolie will be among the new additions to the team.
In an earlier report from Parent Herald, "Fast and Furious 8" will be adding more female characters with the return of Eva Mendez and a potential role for Ronda Rousey. The "Orange Is The New Black" star Ruby Rose is also set to join the team. Rose confirmed to The Today Show that she is in talks with the creative team for a possible role, Inquisitr has learned.
Moreover, producer and lead star Vin Diesel seems to be having no issues with the addition of more female characters. In fact, when he was asked if he wants to see Helen Miller in the next movie, he said "Of course I would! Who wouldn't? It's Helen. Amazing," Access Hollywood reports.
Miller expressed her interest in doing a "Fast and Furious" movie earlier, calling it her "great ambition," adding that she wants to be a "mad driver" in the film, according to Yahoo! Movies. And it looks like soon Miller will be among the new faces in the popular series.
Things will be getting even more interesting with Mrs. Smith on. Jolie is not new to action films and is known as an action heroine. However, there are speculations that she is set to play a villain role in "Fast 8," Ecumenical News reports.
News Everday agrees that Jolie will be a fantastic addition to "Fast and Furious 8," but the report suggests that the actress will not have enough time to play a major role because she is currently working on her first Netflix movie, "Firs They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers."
On the other hand, Michelle Rodriguez had earlier expressed that her dream co-star is Jolie but there is no confirmation to Jolie's casting yet. Whether Jolie will be among the villains in "Fast 8" or not this is what Rodriguez has to say, "Whoever it is—it has to be a powerful presence that hasn't been seen before," Entertainment Tonight has learned.
Rodriguez also teases that the plot will be something new since there's a lot of things to do in New York.
"Fast and Furious 8" is set to hit the big screens on April 14, 2017.
