A New York photographer documents his quarantine life with his mom and ex-wife. Neil Kramer shares the photos on his Instagram account. Netizens find the images funny and relatable.
He started documenting their quarantine life in March.
Sharing an apartment with his mom and ex-wife
During the beginning of 2020, Kramer opened his one-bedroom apartment to his mom and his ex-wife. However, the New York photographer had no idea that he would end up staying with them for the rest of the year.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kramer's mom and his ex-wife stayed with him.
Kramer's mom, Elaine, was living in Florida but encountered a problem. On the other hand, Sophia Lansky, Kramer's ex-wife, lives in California. She had a plumbing problem and asked if she could stay with the New York photographer.

Setting boundaries
For ten months, the three had to share the space in Kramer's one-bedroom apartment. Although it was difficult to set boundaries, they were able to find a way.
The New York photographer shared in an interview with Fox News, "It was very hard in the beginning to make boundaries, but I think eventually, the human spirit adjusts and, you know, in a hard way, we've gotten to know each other in new way."
Coping with the pandemic
Just like everyone else, the three found it difficult to cope with the changes brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. However, photography paved the way for their coping.
Because Kramer can no longer spend most of his time outside taking photographs, he chose to set up the camera in his home with his mother and ex-wife.
What they did was create hilarious photos inside the apartment.
He shared the photos on Instagram. Kramer said, "Almost like therapy, to sort of take what was scary or frustrating and then sort of, you know, play around with it in a humorous way."
The photo series
Aside from the hilarious poses that the three did in the photo series. Each photo was also captioned in a funny way.
Because of the restrictions brought by the pandemic, taking photos of the family was what Neil decided to do. However, the New York photographer shared that taking pictures of family, although fun, is more complicated. In an interview with TODAY, he said, "Let me tell you, taking photos of the family is much harder than taking photos of strangers. But we sort of use it as therapy."
Netizens' reactions
On Kramer's Instagram account, some of the netizens expressed how much they enjoyed seeing the hilarious photos.
Some netizens admire how the three are also a great help in lightening up during the coronavirus pandemic.
Others admired the kind of relationship the New York photographer has with his ex-wife.
