An anonymous person leaves $250 gift cards alongside a poem to 400 families on Christmas. The person wanted to spread some good cheer to the community by helping out those in need.

The nameless envelopes contained an inspirational rhyme and have touched the hearts of many. Elisha Tennant, who got laid off due to the pandemic, was teary-eyed when she received the unexpected present from the anonymous St. Nick.

It gives hope to everyone

The poem reads that although the sender does not know who the receiver was, he wants to give a little hope to everyone. The Secret Santa said that many have felt that they were at the ends of the rope, so the little gift is something to brighten up their day.

The anonymous sender believes that the whole world is not as dark as it seemed. He believes that in the next six months, there would be a light for everyone to see. He also noted that the year 2020 would help people emerge stronger.

The anonymous St. Nick also wrote that after being tested, people would conquer any battles they have to face in the future.

Families were touched

Tennant told "CBC News" that she felt it was a touching and heartwarming gesture to have something like that for their family. She explained that it could help them buy one month's worth of groceries.

The good samaritan shared his blessings to the west end and Alberta Avenue neighborhoods. He suggested that if anyone receives the bonus but does not need it, they pass it along to someone else who might need it.

Pass the baton to someone in need

The kind person wrote that the receiver needs to believe in himself for whatever he is set out to do. He asked the person to "pass the baton" if the receiver does not need the extra cash. It is the way to bring hope to someone else who is in need.

Many recipients followed what the anonymous person has suggested. Families who do not need the cash have donated theirs to charity.

There is only one clue who the Secret Santa was: an email address was indicated at each note's bottom. "CBC News" has tried to reach out, but St. Nick preferred to keep his identity from the public.

Wanted to help people having a tough year

What the kind-hearted person did was explain why he decided to share his blessings with his community. The Secret Santa explained through email that he wanted to help people because he believes that many had a tough year.

He is hoping that the gifts he has given would make the people still believe that the world is good. Apart from that, he also wanted to show the people that there is still a brighter future ahead.

"Good News Network" noted that there had been generous people across the globe that had helped others. People did not stop showing that the spirit of giving is still alive despite the hardships that many went through the past year.
