A girl holds a bake sale to raise money for her dad's funeral. She and her mom were grateful to all the people who have helped them raise money because they did not have enough savings.
According to a GoFundMe page, Kaylei Miller's dad, Jason Barton, died on January 3 due to a car crash. The 35-year-old dad did not have insurance or enough savings, so his family had to earn money through a fundraiser for his memorial service.
Growing up without a dad
On the donation page, a relative wrote that it is heartbreaking to know that their relative's dad would be growing up without their dad. The person also said that a kid would never think about the death of a parent.
The relative also explained that the pandemic has also affected the life of the family. The person also added how loving the dad-of-three was as a father and a husband.
A knack for baking
According to WAVE, the nine-year-old daughter has a knack for baking. She decided to throw a bake sale at the local Dairy Queen so she could help raise money. With her family's help, Miller made red velvet cake she topped with sprinkles a week ago.
Then, she went outside of the restaurant in Fairdale to sell them. The news station reported that a line of cars was seen buying the goods. Apart from that, a couple even donated $1,000 after seeing the girl's efforts.
They did not let the pandemic stop them from helping
Jack and his wife, Debbie, told WAVE that they would not let the pandemic stopped showing their care for other people. Debbie had lost her dad when she was in fourth grade, and she still remembers clearly what it was like. The couple explained that they knew how the young lady was going through, so they wanted to help.
Miller was very grateful to all the people that came out to support their family. She told the outlet that she cried the other day after seeing all the people who cared for their families.

She said she has never imagined in her whole life that there are people who would care for their family even though they have not met one another before. She added that they were very lost and heartbroken, but people's prayers and donations help them get through a terrible situation.
Whitney also said that they would live on her husband's memory thanks to all the people who have helped them.
