Due to the coronavirus pandemic, teachers have been extra inventive when conducting online classes.

However, a Kindergarten teacher from Minnesota, Kelly Klein, is not just innovative but is dedicated as well. That is because she still teaches virtually while getting chemotherapy treatments.

A Kindergarten teacher gets chemotherapy

As reported by The Dad, the Kindergarten teacher gets chemotherapy after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer for the second time.

Klein spends four to five hours for her chemo session. It is quite some time, but she makes sure it would still count. That is why she thought of teaching online while getting chemo treatments.

The Kindergarten teacher from Minnesota continues teaching

In an interview with Good Morning America, Klein shared that teaching is her passion.

She has been teaching for more than three decades. However, even if she is getting chemo treatments, she continues to teach her Kindergarten students remotely.

Klein says she wants to do this for as long as she could.

In a Facebook post by the M Health Fairview, they described Klein as an "unstoppable teacher in action."

Choosing to teach still

Klein said she wants to make the most of her time. She said, "I don't take anything for granted."

That is why she transformed her treatment facility into her virtual classroom.

Every time the dedicated Kindergarten teacher comes to have her chemo treatments, she brings her laptop and other supplies for teaching.

She said, "When you're at chemo and you're around a lot of sick people, it's kind of a depressing place to be. For me, to be around 5-year-olds during that time, it's like a slice of normalcy in an abnormal environment."

Students love their dedicated teacher

According to the school principal, her students love her dedication. Even her colleagues adore the dedicated teacher. The principal also shared that even after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer for the second time, she did not want to take a leave.

Klein insists she gets her energy from the kids. The Kindergarten teacher says she badly needed to be around kids, even during a virtual set up because she is also not allowed to have visitors at the hospital.

According to The Dad, Klein is consistently described as the teacher who everyone remembers even after moving on to another grade.

A lot of people who saw her story online admired Klein. Some parents said, "Amazing! What a hero to our young children (heart emoji)"

One netizen even described her as a superhero. Another one said, "What an amazing teacher."
