"Gotham" co-stars Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin's relationship became public right after the Emmys, according to People Magazine. But now, news have it that the two are in fact expecting their first baby together.
TMZ has obtained court records that indicate Morena is pregnant with Ben's baby, as the actress is still in the process of finalizing her divorce from her first husband, Austin Chick. According to the news outlet, Morena is at the end of her first trimester of pregnancy and she is seeking her ex-husband to move from L.A. to New York. Morena's work commitments are in the Big Apple, as she is filming the current season of "Gotham" there. When her pregnancy progresses, she will not be able to fly and visit or pick up her one-year-old son with Austin. Meanwhile, the actress is seeking full custody of her son in the divorce proceedings.
The former star of "Homeland" joined "Gotham" in the middle of last season as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, where she met Ben, the show's lead star as Commissioner James Gordon. People Magazine reported that the two were very cozy during the Emmy weekend parties, and were holding hands at the Fox event that Sunday. Their characters in the series are also romantically involved. This isn't the first time Morena and Ben has worked together as the actress was also a guest on Ben's previous series, "The O.C," but the actor said that he cannot remember his girlfriend's role, according to the Daily Mail.
In 2011, Morena married Austin, a producer and director and gave birth in 2013 to Julius. By July 2015, Austin filed for divorce from his actress wife, citing irreconcilable differences, according to E! Online.
Ben, on the other hand, is very private about his personal affairs. The actor was once linked to Nina Dobrev, according to PopCrush, but he has never admitted to publicly dating anyone. "I'm really shy about that stuff. I really don't like relationships to be played out in public. It creates terrible strain. It creates bizarre dynamics. There's that saying, "Less said about the bedroom, the better," the actor told Elle in a previous interview.
He also told the magazine what he likes about dating, "I like the idea of old-fashioned dating, which at this point is almost heretical. People are genuinely surprised when you ask them out."
"Gotham" returns this fall for its second season every Monday nights on Fox.
