According to entertainment reports, Britney Spears, the pop icon, is considering making some surprising statements. The Oops I Did It Again singer is considering giving Oprah Winfrey her side of the story in a shocking interview.
A source said that Britney has debated speaking out about her experience, mainly because she doesn't believe people can properly share her story.
The source also added that she never liked doing interviews, but Oprah would almost certainly be her first pick if she did. There are no plans in the works for her to interview at this time, but if she does, there will be steps Britney must take before speaking out.
"Britney has been much happier recently, and those closest to her believe it's because of the immense support she's got from her fans."
"The documentary's publication has sparked a greater outpouring of love than ever before. Although she hasn't been able to adjust her conservatorship, she has received millions of messages from fans on social media and feels much better understood," her representatives said.
Fans on Britney Spears Oprah interview
Following her conversation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, fans urged Oprah to interview Britney Spears next.
Britney fans are courting Oprah to sit down with her for a candid chat about her conservatorship and life.
Spears' supporters say Winfrey, 67, is the right person to dig deep for the "Toxic" singer after the legendary interviewer's bombshell special with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
One person tweeted that she can't stop thinking about how much fans need an Oprah interview with Britney, while another said it would make a huge difference in Britney's life. Even one who tagged Oprah and posted that fans urgently need her assistance in interviewing Britney.
After the Harry/Megan interview aired, reports of a Winfrey interview were "created/started by social media chatter."
The New York Times published a documentary last month called "Framing Britney Spears," which focused on the media's criticism of the pop star during her career and the emergence of the #FreeBritney campaign during her conservatorship struggle.
The well-received documentary included interviews with people from Spears' history, including former assistant Felicia Culotta, but not with the singer herself.
Following the success of "Framing Britney Spears," reports said that Spears wanted to work on her own documentary with a top female director to open up about her story, but was afraid that her father would take charge of the project and use it to portray himself in a favorable light.
Britney's mom wants her to sing again
The Grammy winner posted an old recording of her performing "You Got It All" on Instagram on Friday, revealing how very much her mother's slight push means to her.
"Geez ... My mom sent this to me and reminded me that I can sing," Spears had written on the Instagram caption. "She said 'You never sing anymore ... you need to again!!!!'"
Spears' comment about no longer performing could be a reference to the fact that her "Piece of Me" tour ended in October 2018, and it has been nearly three years since she last performed. After her father, Jamie Spears, experienced a medical emergency, the singer had to cancel her anticipated Domination Las Vegas residency.
