A new and upcoming downloadable pack has been announced for "Mortal Kombat X" and gives clues regarding new characters.
Ever since an announcement regarding a new DLC called the "Kombat Pack 2" has been made for Mortal Kombat X, fans have been raving about the new characters that will be added as playables. However, no final details have been given, except that there will be four new playable characters, and that it will be available early in 2016.
According to ScreenRant, Mortal Kombat development head Ed Boon posted the announcement in his Twitter page: a smoke-enshrouded image, featuring four character silhouettes with the caption "WHO'S NEXT?" beneath it. Since then, there have been many guesses as to who those characters are.
According to Vine Report, the first figure, which appears to be either bald or wearing a ninja mask, might be Baraka, Smoke or Noob Saibot. Baraka already appeared as an A.I. opponent in the game. Smoke has a similar build.
As for the second character, VR says that it could be the ninja Rain, Kitana's mother Sindel, or wind god Fujin. Both Rain and Sindel already appeared as A.I. characters in the game, while Fujin appeared in the game's cinematics.
ScreenRant reports that Rain could be the one in the first silhouette, and DC's the Joker could be the one in the second, with the hair shown in it. After all, developer NetherRealm already had him before, and Boon had closed the idea that there would be a Marvel character inserted in the game.
The third character's silhouette appears to have a helmet and a chest orb, so many websites guess that it could be Cyrax or Sektor, characters that have been eliminated earlier.
The fourth character silhouette could be belonging to a Bo Rai Cho, the lovable drunken fist master.
ScreenRant adds some more guesses that include Elvira, Kabal, and Star Wars' Kylo Ren. Also included are Indiana Jones and Neo.
According to a report from ComicBook, Todd McFarlane gave permission to NetherRealm regarding the inclusion of Spawn in MKX. This could be a possibility, as there are non-Mortal Kombat characters that have been included in the game, such as Predator and Jason Voorhees.
Mortal Kombat X is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. "Kombat Pack 2" will also include new content such as skins and a new environment in addition to new playable characters, and will be available in the first half of 2016.
