Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she has no qualms about bringing along her late son's ashes on family vacations, and her two other kids, Luna, 5, and Miles, 3, are quite comfortable with it as well.

Speaking with Scary Mommy, the model and businesswoman, said that it's her children who sometimes remind her not to forget packing up Jack's ashes. She shared that Luna and Miles love being a part of their "crazy" rituals while traveling with Jack's little box. As a mom, she also treasures how much her kids still talk about the brother they have never met.

"[When] we get to where we're going, they're like, 'Oh my gosh, he must be thirsty,'" Teigen detailed. "This might sound crazy to people, but they'll put a little glass of water next to his little box of ashes."

How Chrissy Teigen Lost Jack

Jack didn't survive his mother's pregnancy as Teigen, the wife of pop superstar John Legend, suffered from a complication and miscarried the baby in September 2020. According to reports, Teigen was 20 weeks pregnant with Jack when she experienced partial placenta abruption.

According to WebMD, this happens when the placenta breaks away from the uterus before the baby's birth, thus cutting the supply of nutrients and oxygen. The complication also leads to the mother's heavy bleeding, which Teigen experienced for days. A trip to the hospital confirmed her worst fears as the doctor told her and Legend that their baby would not survive and Teigen could die if they didn't do a procedure to terminate the pregnancy.

Teigen, who has been diagnosed with endometriosis, was on bed rest before the miscarriage. Her doctors had her undergo multiple blood transfusions after she lost the baby.

A few weeks later, Teigen and Legend received Jack's ashes alongside a stack of letters of condolences from family, friends, and fans. The cookbook author shared that Luna included a therapy bear and her favorite snack next to her brother's box, which was tied with a blessed Thai string. Teigen also shared a video of Luna introducing Jack to the therapy bear.

Trying for Another Baby

In April, Teigen told People that she has come to terms with not having any kids anymore. She and Legend conceived Jack through IVF pregnancy, but after the miscarriage, the model said that she would never get pregnant again.

Instead, Teigen acknowledges her luck for still birthing Luna and Miles. She also hinted that there are still other options, such as adoption or surrogacy, if she and her husband still want another child.

Meanwhile, the mom also said that losing Jack made her assess how she took care of her body and mind's health. Teigen revealed that she has given up on alcohol and then decided to let go of her anger after going through "so much therapy" to be a better mother, wife, and person.
