Preventing avid fans from sharing spoilers is definitely one of the problems of being the most popular show in the world, and for "Game of Thrones," it's quite hard to contain. Three new photos from the set surfaced this week that allegedly reveal some major twists about the upcoming season.
Among the leaks, a photo of Kit Harrington on the set was published on the Daily Mail, suggesting that regardless of what has been said of his character's fate, Jon Snow is still very much part of the series.
The photo showed the actor wearing his costume and holding a sword, as they were actually filming in a Northern Ireland area, the news outlet further reported. He was seen with plenty of the crew and from among the crowd, another actress, Carice van Houten, was also spotted. She plays, Lady Melisandre, the Red Witch, which fans believe will have a hand in Jon Snow's "resurrection."
"Game of Thrones" fans were left utterly devastated when Jon Snow was stabbed multiple times at the end of last season. Time and again, the cast and crew have said that it was really the end for the character, and Harrington have done interviews telling everyone his character is dead, but fans remain in denial. The leaks all the more bolstered the assumption that it's really not over for the show's best-loved character.
Meanwhile, according to The Week, a crew from "Game of Thrones" is set to be in Spain in the next few days to film at the Castillo de Zafra. The site, which holds a 13th century fortress, is supposed to depict the Tower of Joy. In the books, the tower figures significantly in Jon Snow's life as a child. Speculations are that the character's lineage will finally be revealed in the new season.
The third leak involves a battle scene that was shot in Saintfield in Northern Ireland. According to Vanity Fair, the photo seemed to suggest that there will finally be battle between the Boltons and the Nightwatch men, and this is something that fans have been waiting to happen since last season. The report also said that this may mean Jon Snow is finally taking back Winterfell and perhaps saving his sister, Sansa, from the wicked hands of Remy Bolton. According to Watcher on the Wall, the crew is calling this the "Battle of 6 Armies."
The sixth season of "Game of Thrones" will return to HBO on spring of 2016.
