Most of the time, divorced couples fight over child custody and child support, which only shows how difficult it is to have an amicable split. Ex-couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are in that particular case now.
There is no denying that the "Mission Impossible" film featuring Cruise in the lead role is a hit series. In fact, its latest franchise "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" dominated the box office when it was released. According to Slanted, the film conquered the box-office with over $650M in gross ticket sales.
Paramount Home Media Distibutions is set to release the film on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On Demand on Dec.1. This would mean that the film will still be collecting money.
However, despite Cruise's success, it seems that his ex-wife has some issues with his child support for their daughter Suri. The award-winning actor reportedly pay Katie $400,000 each year to support Suri until she turns 18. However, while many consider such amount as high enough to support a decent lifestyle, Katie thinks otherwise. She is planning to ask for more, HollywoodLife has learned.
"She's going to ask that the $400,000 a year in support she currently gets be amended to a higher amount," an insider told Life & Style. "While Katie's taking every acting job that comes her way, she doesn't have the ability to keep her and Suri living the lifestyle that Tom's fortune allowed."
Well, that could be true. However, the report suggests that Katie was also considering the growing expenses that they encounter while Suri is growing up, which needs to be paid by Tom. According to the source, as Suri grows up, she needs more money to travel back and forth with Katie.
She also needs financial support for her new clothes, arts and crafts, growing hobbies, skating, tutors, dance lesson and music lesson. "Suri's needs will only grow exponentially over the next few years. Katie's preparing for a courtroom showdown to make sure she gets the money she needs," the insider added.
While this might appear to be a tough battle, Katie is reportedly confident that she will win the case. The divorced mom has grown a lot tougher after her suffocating marriage with Tom. She has conquered her fears and "can't wait for her face-to-face with Tom in court."
Katie and Suri were last spotted together at the Global Citizen Festival held last Saturday. The event was jam-packed with celebrity performers and attendees, including Ed Sheeran, Pearl Jam, Kerry Washington, and First Lady Michelle Obama. Katie was hosting when she called Suri on stage and encouraged her little one to wave to the crowd, People reports.
