Dr. Mehmet Oz, the TV personality most popularly known as Dr. Oz, has accused his sister, Nazlim Oz, of stealing millions of dollars from their father's estate long before his death.

Page Six reported that Dr. Oz filed additional claims at the Manhattan Supreme Court stating that his lawyers, with the help of the Turkish authorities, were able to track down the money trail for Nazlim's activities to three international banks, including an account in the Cayman Islands. This new evidence is supposed to be in response to Nazlim's lawsuit against her older brother.

The legal tussle between the Oz siblings started in 2020 after Nazlim sued Dr. Oz for allegedly not giving her monthly share of $15,000, which she expected from their family's rental properties across the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Nazlim said that the money stopped coming in soon after the death of their patriarch, Mustafa Oz, in 2019.

However, Dr. Oz's legal team wants Nazlim's lawsuit paused as the latest evidence has come to light.

Evidence of Stealing

Michael J. Cohen, the lawyer for Dr. Oz, said that their client purposely ceased the distributions of his sibling's share of the rental money as they discovered Nazlim's alleged secret bank accounts. Their other sister, Seval, and their mother, Suna Oz, were also informed of this discovery.

Allegedly, Nazlim, who is based in Turkey, has been hiding the money she has stolen from their father's estate after forging Mustafa's signature in 2018 so she could take over his bank accounts. As a result, Nazlim also deprived Seval and Suna of the correct inheritance. Cohen further said that the Oz family is trying to recover the money hidden in these accounts, or at least a portion of it that equals the rental payments Nazlim claims should have gone to her.

This isn't the first legal squabble between Dr. Oz and Nazlim. Months after their father's death, he sued Nazlim for an alleged stabbing attempt. The TV doctor also accused his sister of suffering from psychological issues.

As Suna lives with Nazlim, Dr. Oz said he's worried for his aging mother's safety, especially as she has Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Oz also said that there are a lot of firearms in his sister's house in Turkey; thus, he requested the Istanbul authorities to assign a legal guardian for his mother.

Running Bid for the Senate

Meanwhile, after the end of his medical advice talk show, Dr. Oz laid out his bid to run for senator in Pennsylvania under the Republican Party for the November 2022 midterm elections. The TV doctor is aware that he has a huge advantage over his opponents because he is a well-known physician and cardiac surgeon.

However, Dr. Oz said that he still regards himself as a "village doctor" who helps sick people despite his celebrity status. He believes that he will help more people by fighting and promoting their advocacies on the senate floor.

If he wins the senate seat, Dr. Oz will replace Sen. Pat Toomey, who is due to retire. However, before he pushes with his bid, he has to earn the nomination of his party mates in the Pennsylvania primary on May 17, 2022.
