Amber Rose Reveals Reasons behind her C-Section Birth (VIDEO)

Amber Rose wanted to have a water birth, but she was destined for something else - a C-section.

The model and her fiancée Wiz Khalifa welcomed their first child in February. The couple, who confirmed pregnancy in September 2012, was inspired by Ricki Lake's documentary "The Business of Being Born" and had prepared to welcome their son via a water birth at home.

During a chat with Lake Tuesday, April 30, the new parents opened up about their birthing experiences and the reasons that forced them to have a cesarean delivery at the last moment.

"I first saw The Business of Being Born actually before I was even pregnant," People magazine quoted Rose telling Lake. "I was like, 'If I ever get pregnant, that's how I'm going to do it!' Then when I got pregnant, I watched it again and then I made Wiz watch it."

As Rose expected, the film was successful in motivating the dad-to-be in trying out the concept of water birth.

After making every preparation for a water birth, however, spoiling their plans at 37 weeks, the couple found out that their baby was in a breech position.

"At 37 weeks one of the midwives said that that big lump right there on my top by my ribs was the baby's head," she said, according to People. "My ideal birth plan was just down the drain."

However, Rose was not ready to accept her failure easily. Unable to come to terms with the concept of C-section, she tried all the possible tricks, including treatment with a Chinese herb called moxa or mugwort, acupuncture and external cephalic version (EVC - a method of manually turning a breech baby) to bring the baby to position.

But with everything ending in failure, the expecting couple started mentally preparing for a surgery at last. Their little boy, Sebastian Taylor, was born via C-section Feb. 21.

"All of a sudden we heard Sebastian cry and then we both started crying," Us Weekly quoted Rose as saying. "We were like, 'Oh my gosh, our baby's here!'"

During the chat, the model revealed her desire to try water birth in the future, Us Weekly reported.

"I feel like I made the right decision," Rose added, according to Us Weekly. "But I knew right after having a c-section that [with] our next baby I definitely want to have my baby at home."

The 24-year-old rapper and the model dated for more than a year before getting engaged in March. Speculation about the couple expecting a baby started spreading after their engagement. However, the hip-hop star and Rose denied the rumors until they confirmed the baby news at the MTV Video Music Awards function in September 2012.
