Amy Schumer is now a parenting guru. The Hollywood actress told People correspondent Segun Oduolowu in an interview that she has been sharing parenting tips to her celebrity friends, including superstar Jennifer Lawrence and "Life & Beth" co-star Michael Cera.

Schumer compared parenting to comedy, with the 40-year-old star saying that it is just about failing. Schumer said parenthood is like stand up and that you mess up so bad. Schumer then shared a funny story of how she accidentally named her two-year-old son Gene Attell Fischer much to her embarrassment.

Schumer said "It couldn't go much worse than what we named our son initially." Fortunately for Schumer, she quickly noticed her mistake and changed her son's name to Gene David, sparing his child the misfortune of being teased all the time that his name sounds like "genital fissure."

Schumer pays tribute to new parents Lawrence and Cera

Schumer paid tribute to Lawrence and Cera, saying that they are both doing great and they really are just such clear, natural parents. Schumer delivered a shocking announcement earlier this month when she revealed during an Entertainment Tonight interview that Cera recently welcomed a child.

Schumer said "Michael has a baby, too. Is that public knowledge? I just outed him, I just outed his baby." Cera was taken aback by his co-star's announcement but did say that they are right at the beginning of it and they are doing the very basics right now. Cera was forced to share more details about his new kid one week after Schumer spilled the beans, saying in an interview that he is just a little six-month-old baby.

Cera reportedly tied the knot with his wife Nadine back in 2018. He was spotted out in Brooklyn at the time wearing what appeared to be a wedding band, but his representative declined to confirm if he was indeed married.

The couple made a rare public appearance at the 2018 Tony Awards when Nadine accompanied the "Arrested Development" star. Cera was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for "Lobby Hero." He failed to take home the award, losing to veteran actor Nathan Lane.

Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney welcome first child

Jennifer Lawrence also surprised many when TMZ reported last month that she had given birth to her first baby with husband Cooke Maroney in the Los Angeles area. Just like Cera, Lawrence has been secretive about her newborn, with the actress not releasing any statement about the birth and also not sharing information about the child's name, gender, and birth date.

That was not a complete surprise as Lawrence has been adamant that she wants to keep her child's life private. She said in an interview that every instinct in her body wants to protect her children's privacy for the rest of their lives. Lawrence and Maroney became engaged in February 2019 and tied the knot on October 19, 2019.
