Hollywood A-lister Anne Hathaway has opened up about her fertility struggles and plans for a third baby with her husband, Adam Shulman. The actress said that despite being blessed with two boys, she experienced a complicated conception and pregnancy journey.

Hathaway spoke with Wall Street Journal Magazine and revealed that she and Shulman want a third child. They already share two boys, Jonathan, born in 2016, and Jack, born in 2019.

However, based on experience, Hathaway is aware that her third pregnancy could likely become another painful process. The actress didn't explicitly detail her pregnancy struggles, but she said that she's comforted with the knowledge that many women go through the same struggles as her.

"When you find out that your pain is shared by others, that's helpful information to have," the actress said. "So, I'm not isolated in my pain."

Her Infertility and Conception Hell

In 2019, when Hathaway was heavy with her second baby, she shared a photo on Instagram and stated that both her pregnancies were never a straight line. She described her pregnancy journey as going through "infertility and conception hell."

Hathaway also said she did not feel "fully landed" until she became a mother. The actress hinted that she had some negative thoughts about her fertility struggles to the point that she even had to convince herself not to think about the nonsense going through her head.

But during the early months of the pandemic, Hathaway expressed in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that she's undecided about having a third baby. The celebrity mom said that the world has gotten scarier, so she is hesitant to bring another child into the world. But then her fears disappear when she sees her two healthy boys, who make parenting and raising kids so great.

Hathaway said that there is a learning curve to being a parent, especially in raising kids during a pandemic. She constantly reminds herself that she can make mistakes, but she doesn't subscribe to "mom guilt."

As a mother of two boys with ages close to each other, Hathaway also doesn't mind the disruption and the chaos. She's actually loving that her boys are still young as there is "a lot of magic" in being a toddler and a young school kid.

Anne Hathaway's Marriage

Hathaway and Shulman have been dating since 2008 and got married in 2012. However, it took them four years to welcome their eldest child. The pair have managed to keep their relationship and their kids out of the public eye despite Hathaway's status as one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood. She is a firm believer in making sure that her kids' faces should not be on social media until she has their expressed consent.

The couple is living their lives as normal as possible, even with Hathaway's popularity. She takes Jonathan on school runs.

In an interview with Elle, the superstar said that while some women shun the thought of needing a man in their life, Hathaway openly acknowledges that she cannot live without her husband, Us Weekly reported. She said Shulman has changed her views about the world and has shown a "unique and specific love" that molded her into today's wife and mom.
