Jaden Smith, the son of Will Smith, may have implied that he supports his father's action of slapping Chris Rock, one of the presenters of the live broadcast of the 2022 Oscars Awards, after the comedian insulted his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith.
In a post on Twitter, Jaden wrote that it's "how we do it," referring to his family. According to Page Six, Jaden wasn't specific about his statement, but he shared this shortly after the shocking incident between his father and his father's good friend.
A few minutes later, Jaden also tweeted that his father's acceptance speech for Best Actor for the movie "King Richard" made him cry. However, viewers are divided over the slapping incident.

Will Smith Apologizes for Slapping Chris Rock
The next day, Will issued an official statement addressing his behavior at the Oscars. The actor acknowledged that what he did was "unacceptable and inexcusable," per CNN.
Will said that he reacted emotionally to a joke about his wife's medical condition. Rock made a joke on stage about Jada's shaved head, who has been open about her struggles with alopecia, a type of autoimmune disorder that leads to hair loss.
Will said that he's embarrassed for his actions and agreed with the reactions on social media that violence was not the answer as it's "poisonous and destructive." The actor also issued an apology to the Academy and the show's producers knowing that everyone in the world was watching the Oscar ceremony.
"I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us," Will said.
Was The Slapping Staged?
Undoubtedly, the slapping incident caused quite a stir, but some people are convinced that it was staged. According to the Daily Mail, those who re-watched the scene in slow-motion saw that Rock was grimacing before his friend could land a slap on his face as if anticipating what was coming. On the other hand, Will appeared to be holding and pulling his slap back. As an actor, he knew how to control his movements.
However, Darren Stanton, a body language expert, told LadBible the whole encounter was real based on the emotions coming from Will. He said that it's difficult to fake that level of emotion as he appeared so angered by what Rock said about his wife. Will's body also displayed authority amid a threat. Rock's reaction and stance showed that he did not expect the slap. The comedian, however, has expressed that he will not be filing charges with the police.
Meanwhile, close friends of both men said that they had made up that night. Will was also seen smiling at the Oscar after-party, where he was joined by his other kids, Willow and Trent, along with Jaden.
