Skippy Foods, LLC recalled more than 9,353 cases of Skippy Peanut Butter across 18 states. The company cited concerns during manufacturing that caused steel fragments to end up in peanut butter jars.
Loyal Skippy peanut butter fans are asked to take their time in checking their pantry. The company announced the recall of its peanut butter product on March 30, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also posted the announcement on its website on the same day.

According to the recall notice, the products were shipped to 18 states: Wisconsin, Oklahoma, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Nebraska, North Carolina, Missouri, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Hawaii, Florida, Delaware, Connecticut, and California.

The FDA also said that the products being recalled may "contain a small fragment of stainless steel from a piece of manufacturing equipment." However, the recall is categorized as Class II, meaning the "probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."
