Tragic news has emerged in Florida, with authorities finding the body of LaDonna Williams, who was missing since February. According to a report by WJAX-TV, the body of the 41-year-old was found buried in the backyard of a rental home in Jacksonville, Florida.

The outlet reported that the rental property owner called 911 after discovering a body while preparing his house for new renters. Loved ones identified her as Williams shortly after the body's discovery.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office believes Williams was murdered, but they are still trying to figure out how the mom of three was killed and by whom. LaDonna's daughter Tammy Williams spoke in an interview on Monday, saying that she was a very good mother to her and all her friends and siblings. Tammy added that her mother did not deserve to die like that.

Tammy said she was just shocked when she found out that it was her mom. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found the body at a home in the 2900 block of West 9th Street in the Allendale area. Police were called to the scene on Wednesday after officers said the homeowner discovered a decomposing body buried in the backyard.

Williams' body was found partially covered near a fence behind a rental property.

WJXT-TV had previously talked to LaDonna in an interview after she and her son reportedly survived a domestic knife attack back in 2015. According to People magazine, LaDonna told the station that she was not sure who was going to live and who was not during the knife attack. Williams added that she felt like her son put his life on the line for her, and he very well could have lost his life while protecting her.

Tammy said she wouldn't get closure until she got answers about what happened to her mother. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is in the process of reaching out to all the previous renters and asking anyone with information to contact them. Anyone who has information on Williams' killing can call the Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.

GoFundMe campaign set up for LaDonna Williams

Family and friends have recently launched a GoFundMe campaign to help lay to rest Williams, the "independent, strong, motivated" mother they knew and loved. The fundraiser description stated that Williams lived life day by day, ready for whatever God had planned.

They described Williams as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, and friend to many and that she was loved by everyone she met and kept faith in her heart. As of publication, $2,760 of the campaign's $9,000 goal had been raised, with the fund getting 73 donations.
