New York Yankees center fielder Aaron Hicks and his wife, pro golfer Cheyenne Woods, are now proud parents to a baby boy, welcoming their first child together on Tuesday, April 26.
Woods, the niece of golfing legend Tiger Woods, announced the happy baby news on social media platform Instagram, posting a photo of herself holding the couple's newborn child. Woods wrote in the caption that it was a day she dreamed of her entire life. Woods then introduced her child, saying they finally met their little guy, Cameron Jaxson Hicks, on April 26, 2022.
Woods then took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of her husband holding their son. According to the New York Post, Woods wrote under the cute picture, "These two." She then added a heart and teary-eyed emojis in her caption.
Woods announced the pregnancy last February
Woods announced that she was pregnant back in February in a post that included a picture of the couple kissing at her baby shower. Woods and Hicks tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony in Arizona on February 2. The Yankee outfielder popped the question to Woods last October, with the pro golfer sharing pictures from the proposal on Instagram.
The pro athletes first met each other in early 2020, when Woods interviewed Hicks on her podcast, "Birdies Not BS." Sparks flew after that meeting, with Hicks and Woods hooking up in the spring of that year. Woods played Symetra and LPGA Tour events throughout last year while taking on various TV roles as an on-site reporter and analyst.
The Bronx Bombers placed Hicks on the paternity list earlier this week and recalled infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar from Triple-A club Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, according to NJ.com. Hicks rejoined the Yankees on Friday in Kansas City after missing the series against the Baltimore Orioles. He is batting .273 with a .377 on-base percentage through 15 games this campaign.
Hicks talked to reporters after the game, saying that Cheyenne and baby Cameron are both doing very well. Hicks added that his wife is just recovering now at home, and the reason they chose to have her give birth in Arizona was because they have a lot of family there.
