Post Malone will be a father for the first time, with the 26-year-old rapper revealing the news on Tuesday, May 3. He made the announcement on TMZ, telling the tabloid journalism online newspaper that he is excited for the next chapter of his life.

The New York-based musician was ecstatic with the baby news, saying "I'm the happiest I've ever been, and for since I could remember, I was sad." Malone said it was time to take care of his body and his family and friends and spread as much love as they could every day.

The Grammy-nominated artist, who rose to fame following the release of his 2015 debut single, "White Iverson," did not reveal any other details about the pregnancy. Post Malone and his representatives also did not divulge the identity of the music star's long-time girlfriend.

Baby news comes ahead of the release of Post Malone's fourth studio album

Sources close to Post Malone did say that the rapper and his girlfriend celebrated the baby news with a private party for family and friends over the weekend in Southern California. Sources added that his girlfriend is someone who has not spent any time in the spotlight.

Post Malone's baby news comes ahead of his much-awaited fourth studio album, "Twelve Carat Toothache," set to be released on June 3. This is the highly anticipated follow-up record to his 2019 hit "Hollywood's Bleeding," which debuted at the number 1 spot on the Billboard album chart. That album spawned hits such as "Wow" and "Sunflower."

Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, told Billboard in an interview back in January that the tracks on "Twelve Carat Toothache" speak more to how he was feeling at the moment. Malone further explained that the tracks came from the "ups and downs and the disarray and the bipolar aspect of being an artist in the mainstream."

Why did Post Malone leave Los Angeles?

The rapper has been busy. Last month, he joined 21 Savage on stage at Coachella to perform their huge 2018 hit "Rockstar." Post Malone also made a surprise appearance at the Revolve Festival.

Post Malone made a shock move to the state of Utah from Los Angeles more than three years ago, a decision his father, Rich Post, recently described in the Billboard interview as "a big sigh of relief for the parental figures." Many in the music industry were saddened to see Malone leave the music scene in L.A., according to Yahoo!

Post Malone said that people wanted him to stay in Los Angeles as that is the place where the work gets done. Malone was fed up, though, with the hustle and bustle of the city, saying that "there is always something to do, and someone always wants something from you." Malone added that he did not want to go crazy.
