Other netizens also gave the man a tip like "Time and Place, Bro. Lord." One remarked, "what made him think that was the perfect time to pull that off?."
Another person wrote that the incident was crazy as the guy tried to back the girl into a corner and in a fast-food line. Another said proposing at MacDonald's is disrespectful, and the guy was lucky because the girl just walked away. She said she would have thrown the ring in the fry grease if it had happened to her.
How to have a perfect proposal
Many people commented on finding the right timing when popping the question. Brides.com suggests making the occasion perfect. It is best to make sure that you are on the same page before proposing. Let her know beforehand that you would like to be married and ask if she sees marriage in the future.
It is best to ask the parents, especially if your partner hinted that you need to ask their parents first before asking for her hand in marriage.
Alexandra Uritis, a wedding planner, said that if the guy is shy about asking about marriage plans, try to broaden the topic by discussing a recent friend's engagement and lead into it that way. The conversation may be complicated, but it will give you an idea of how she will react to the ring.
Lastly, Uritis said it is best to plan the proposal. Think about the type of proposal and place that your partner will love. Marthastewart.com also suggests considering if the partner wants a public or private engagement.
No matter the budget, Uritis said to find a cool place that means something to them as a couple.
