Alicia Dougherty, the famed matriarch of the Dougherty Dozen, left people with huge smiles on their faces when she shared the news on her TikTok page that she is raising her biological son and his twin brothers as triplets.

What makes these triplets so unique is that they are of different races and heights, according to the New York Post. Dougherty's three sons are all the same age, though, and all are in second grade which is year three in the United Kingdom.

Alicia made the revelation when a person asked her about her triplets. Dougherty said that their adopted twins and biological son are all born in 2014 and in second grade together and they have been raised as triplets most of their lives.

Dougherty triplets have uniqie bond

Dougherty shared more about the brothers' unique bond, saying "Don't tell them they're not triplets or they will tear you apart." People on the social media platform were quick to praise Dougherty and her three boys who look utterly devoted to each other.

One person said "Doesn't matter about the skin color you can see how much love they have for each other... triplets for life." Another said "Look how proud they are! Such beautiful triplets!" Another person wrote "They can be whatever they want to be!!!!!!"

Alicia previously spoke about how she had been trolled for her large brood but ignored it. Dougherty said that people keep trolling on her videos that they hate their smiles. Dougherty said she may be biased but she thinks her kids are all 100 percent.

Dougherty explained that happiness comes from knowing they are worthy of being their true, authentic selves. She said that they see all the negativity but they just brush it off because they know it comes from other people's insecurities and triggers. Alicia added that it is not on us but it is on them.

Dougherty thanked her family's supporters, saying "I appreciate those of you who have checked in on us over the past few weeks as we've been massively trolled by unhappy, insecure people. I promise you, we are good."

Apart from her popular TikTok page, Alicia also has a huge following on social media platform Instagram, where she regulary posts updates about her family, according to The Sun. She showed off her food haul recently and was also slammed by critics.

Dougherty's kids have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders

Trolls heavily mocked Dougherty's weekly shopping for her family, which included 191 bags of chips, 25 bananas, and 12 pounds of chicken. The total cost of Alicia's gargantuan food shop was $1,094, adding up to around a hefty food bill of $56,000.

Alicia and her husband Josh Dougherty grabbed the headlines back in 2018 when they were interviewed by People magazine about the behavioral issues of their children. The couple explained that all six of their adopted children suffer from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), making their family life a little more challenging.
