'Kingsman 2' Movie Trailer: Filming To Begin Spring 2016, Delayed Due To Taron Egerton's Schedule [Rumors]

The sequel to the surprise hit "Kingsman: The Secret Service" has a production date set, but filming for "Kingsman 2" may be bound to experience some delays.

According to Collider, 20th Century Fox plans on starting the production for "Kingsman 2" by April 2016, where Taron Egerton, the hero of the first movie and its breakout star, is expected to reprise his role as Eggsy Unwin. Only, there's one hitch to this arrangement—the actor is also committed to filming "Robin Hood: Origins" with Lionsgate by February 2016. It is expected that production for the latter will be a lengthy process and will come in conflict with "Kingsman 2's" production.

The scheduling conflict is causing quite a headache for the two big studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox isn't keen on making any adjustments. Cinema Blend reports that Egerton's contract with Fox trumps whatever arrangement he has with Lionsgate, but the other studio's preproduction has been progressing faster than "Kingsman 2." Both films are expected to run in theaters by 2017.

The situation is not new to Hollywood though and it's the price to pay for someone who is very much in demand, such as Egerton. Fox and Lionsgate also encountered a similar conflict of schedule with Jennifer Lawrence, but eventually she was able to manage filming between "X-Men" and "The Hunger Games," the news outlet further reported.

Meanwhile, the brains behind "Kingsman 2" are still trying to figure out how they can bring back the character of Colin Firth into the sequel as his character, Harry Hart a.k.a. Galahad, died in the last film. There are still little details to the plot of the second movie, but director Matthew Vaughn, who is also penning the screenplay, expressed via another Collider report, "I'm trying to reinvent how to do a sequel right now and it's tough."

"Kingsman" is based on the comic book miniseries released in 2012 by Dave Gibbons and Mark Miller for Icon Comics. The main plot is about a secret spy organization that recruits street kids to train for their spy program. The organization's main thrust is to thwart global threats using superior technology and classic secret agent smarts.

Colin Firth and Michael Caine led the first movie, which also featured Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Strong. Along with Egerton, newcomers Sofia Boutella and Sophie Cookson made their mark in the movie, which earned over $128,261,724 at the box office, according to Box Office Mojo.
