Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, flew to Uvalde, Texas on Thursday, May 26, to personally lay down white flowers on one of the memorial sites of the Robb Elementary School shooting victims.
Prince Harry's wife was dressed in a white shirt, jeans, sneakers and a baseball cap for her lowkey visit to the school. She had one bodyguard and ignored questions from the press who were likely wondering why she placed the flowers on 10-year-old Uziyah Garcia's cross.
Meghan was also seen walking and looking at the memorials of the other victims. She was said to be fighting back her tears. A spokesperson told People that she came to Uvalde in a "personal capacity as a mother" who wanted to console a grieving community.

Meghan Markle's Father Could Have Died
Days prior to her Uvalde visit, Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, was rushed to a hospital in Tijuana as he apparently suffered a stroke. Samantha Markle, the duchess' 57-year-old sister, said in a TV interview that their father's speech has slurred following the medical emergency. He will need to get into therapy for six months to a year to re-learn to speak properly.
Samantha, flew to California from Florida to take care of Thomas, who was airlifted from Mexico to San Diego. She said that her father was in good spirits but they are still worried over his state of health. Thomas had two heart attacks in 2018 or days before Meghan was to marry the Duke of Sussex.
The older sister has accused Meghan of "watching and doing nothing" with their father's stroke, per the Daily Star. Samantha said that they have not heard anything from Meghan despite knowing that their father "doesn't have a lot of time." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in California as well but have been estranged from the Markles since their wedding.
"She could have taken a short drive to visit her father, in Cali just south of her home, who just had a stroke," one commenter on social media said.
Prince Harry Blasted for His Silence
Thomas was supposed to fly to London to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebration for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry's grandmother. The Duchess of Sussex, however, won't comment on her father and her sister's statements.
Richard Kay, a royal journalist and a critic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, blasted Prince Harry for not making efforts to see Thomas all this time. Kay said that Harry needs to "put the past behind" and reconcile or he will regret never fixing his relationship with his father-in-law.
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are going to mark their first public appearance together with the rest of the British royal family this June, at the Queen's celebration, in London. According to CNN, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be attending the event with their young children, Archie and Lilibet, but they will not be seen at the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Trooping the Colour.
