Black Friday is coming fast. According to the Manchester Evening News, the American tradition will be held this year after Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 28, between Halloween and Christmas.
Target and Staples, two well-known retailers, have both announced publicly some Black Friday-related news as early as now.
According to Enstars, Staples announced through a press release that they would close on Thanksgiving Day, but will open at 6:00 a.m. on Black Friday to give shoppers early access to the items they've been longing to get.
"We want our customers and associates to enjoy Thanksgiving their own way," said Demos Parneros, the company's North American stores and online President.
"On Thanksgiving Day, customers can shop from home on Staples.com and then continue their shopping in stores starting at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. Whether our customers like the convenience of shopping online, in our stores or a combination of both, Staples will have amazing products at great prices throughout the holiday season," said Alison Corcoran, senior vice president of North American stores and online marketing. “At Staples, our small business customers get more for less every day, including this holiday season."
Target announced that it has made changes to their price match policy. Target.com purchases can now be price-matched with competitors, making it more convenient for shoppers to shop wherever they are. The list of competitors also has 24 additions. Here's the full list now:
Amazon.com, Babiesrus.com, BedBathBeyond.com, Bestbuy.com, BN.com, Buybuybaby.com, Costco.com, CVS.com, Diapers.com, DicksSportingGoods.com, Drugstore.com, Gamestop.com, JCPenney.com, Kmart.com, Kohls.com, Macys.com, Newegg.com, Officedepot.com, Petco.com, Petsmart.com, Samsclub.com, Sears.com, SportsAuthority.com, Staples.com, Target.com, Toysrus.com, Ulta.com. Walgreens.com, Walmart.com and Wayfair.com.
Target has also extended the timeframe for price adjustment, from seven to 14 days. This means that if a consumer buys something from Target and sees the item at a lower price, the consumer can have the price adjusted for seven days longer than how it used to be.
"We’re all about bringing our guests personal, easy and convenient options whenever and however they choose to shop," says the announcement.
Best Buy, on the other hand, says that their Black Friday Sales event will be on Nov. 27, and will offer "an amazing list of products on sale, both in Best Buy stores and BestBuy.com."
