Cait Oakley knew something was wrong while breastfeeding her daughter Willow as her pet goose Frankie suddenly went squawking at the front of her house. When she peered outside, Oakley saw her beloved pet in extreme danger with an eagle circling Frankie.
Oakley wasted no time rescuing her pet goose from the eagle, rushing outside the house half-naked, with Willow latched to her breast. The drama heightened as the bird of prey grabbed Frankie, who furiously flapped her wings to try to break free from the eagle.
Oakley recalled the dramatic encounter in an interview with TODAY Parents, saying, "I went to the front door with Willow latched on me, just thinking, 'I'll take a peek out the window,' and that's when in that split second the eagle came down and it was at my front door. So I threw the door open. There was nowhere to put Willow down at that point."
Breastfeeding mom fights off bald eagle in her underwear
The 29-year-old North Saanich, British Columbia native added that it was just a split-second reaction and that she has chased off prey many times before, but usually not with a baby.
The heroic mom, wearing only her underwear and clutching a feeding 4-month-old baby, chased after the eagle to save her pet goose. Oakley's move worked as the eagle dropped Frankie.
Oakley's doorbell camera caught the unique faceoff, which her husband shared on social media. Frankie may be a goose, but she also has her own TikTok account. Given the unique nature of the video, the clip soon went viral.

Oakley not embarrassed at all with her topless rescue
Even though loads of people have seen the mother of three - Willow, who is now five months old; Rome, two; and Ryder, eight - topless and only in her underwear, she is not embarrassed at all. For Oakley, she was simply feeding her baby and caring for her beloved pet.
Oakley said, "I could have been naked, and I'm like, 'Whatever, I'm feeding my baby.' That was a part of life." While many have applauded the mother's superhero feat, Oakley explained it is just what moms like her do, saying, "I don't even really think about it. It feels like an accomplishment, I suppose, but for me, this was a day in the life."
Oakley and her family live on an acre of land in Canada and keep ducks, chickens, and geese. Her chickens attract plenty of predators, so she has had to fight off different animals trying to take them.
On the week of the eagle attack, the family had lost three chickens to some bird of prey. They have had Frankie for about a year now. According to Hello Homestead, geese often protect flocks of chickens because they can be aggressive. However, her pet Frankie is a different breed, as she is calm and always enjoys her human companions.
