Personnel from Mexico's immigration agency turned over to U.S. authorities on Thursday, a 7-month-old baby girl whose mother was found dead in the city of Tijuana, according to Valley Central.

Baby Valentine was wrapped in a pink blanket the entire time and calmly waited to be handed over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego, California. A female Mexican customs agent held the infant in her arms during the entire ride to the border from a Tijuana shelter for kids. Valentine had been staying at the facility since last week.

The remains of the child's mother, Raquel Sabean, were discovered inside a cooler in a vehicle near the coast in Tijuana, just south of the border, on May 31. An Amber Alert was launched immediately in search of the baby girl.

Authorities looking for suspect Tyler Adams

Fortunately, Valentine was found safe as she was in the care of a nanny in Rosarito Beach, about 25 miles south of the border. Mexican police detained Tyler Adams, Sabean's partner, and the young child's father, and questioned him about her death.

Officials said Adams was later released due to a lack of evidence connecting him to Sabean's murder. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said that Adams then made his way to the border and crossed into the United States. By the time federal agents realized he had an arrest warrant, it was already too late.

Fox News reported that authorities had described Adams as a conman and a master of disguise. According to the FBI, the suspect has used fewer than 16 aliases to move around and commit his crimes. He had been serving time after a fraud conviction in Hawaii.

Adams crossed into the U.S. with a fake identification card

According to officials, he walked away from a work furlough program and vanished two years ago. The FBI issued a statement last Friday, saying that at the end of the day, Adams was wanted in connection with a missing person presumed murdered in Mexico, and he is considered dangerous. The bureau added that Adams crossed into the United States using a fake identification card, under the alias Aaron Bain.

Sabean's mother, Denise Hosking, who lives in Sacramento, said Adams and her daughter met in San Diego, and they had been together for more than a year. Sabean and Adams reportedly moved south of the border to Baja California back In April. Mexican officials said the young girl has now been turned over to her maternal grandparents.

Hosking wants nothing more than the immediate arrest of Adams, telling CBS 8 that until the police capture him, the baby is not safe with any of them. The victim's mom said she never suspected that Adams, who she knew as Paul Phillips, was a danger to either her granddaughter or daughter.
