As "Fear The Walking Dead" culminates its first season this Sunday, Oct. 4 on AMC, the network also released the show's very first companion web series, "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462."
The video clips include 16 short stories of about a minute long per episode. It centers on the characters on this one particular flight, according to Coming Soon. Specifically, "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462" is about the passengers of a commercial airplane that started its journey from Los Angeles right at a time when the outbreak was still in its earlies stages. The passengers don't realize that their health and safety is in jeopardy when one of them begins to manifest the infection. According to Variety, a character from "Flight 462" will be joining the cast of "Fear The Walking Dead" season two.
L. Signorino and Mike Zunic are the writers for the web series with Michael McDonough serving as the director. Succeeding webisodes will be released every week, in between the airing of "The Walking Dead," which returns for its sixth season on Oct. 11 and taking over "Fear The Walking Dead's" schedule.
"'Flight 462' is a great extension of the world of 'Fear' and will engage fans across multiple platforms with another riveting story set at the start of the fall of civilization," Joel Stillerman, the president of original programming for AMC, said in a press release. "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dave Erickson and David Wiener on another piece of original content. Watching how they'll bring one of these new characters to the second season of 'Fear' will be really exciting for viewers to follow."
