Many are very excited to get their hands on "Halo 5: Guardians." For those who can't wait to play the first-person shooter video game, just a little more patience, the game will be released soon. While we are three weeks short for its release date, new reports about the anticipated game are coming out.
The developers of the anticipated game, 343 Industries has revealed that they did few changes to the shooter sequel, "Halo 5: Guardians" and among its biggest changes to date is its transition to four-player-coop, GamesRadar has learned.
This change springs from the success of "Halo 4," according to studio head Josh Holmes. Holmes revealed that their team was considering on moving to new console. They already planned the technological upgrade they wanted for the engine, the stories they wanted to tell and the experiences they wanted to create. They realized that they wanted to focus on a more sociable experience for their campaign.
This lead them to create two squads, each of which has four Spartans that gamers can control and support seamless drop-in and drop-out cooperative play. Holmes also revealed that they wanted to introduce a new character in Agent Locke, who would be opposite Master Chief. The said character will "examine the Chief more closely as a character via an external perspective or lens, if you will," he said.
"I think co-op has always been a big part of Halo's campaign, but in the past it's sort of been treated as a completely separate experience, where you just have three other clones of the Master Chief running side by side. The narrative breaks down. One of the big creative goals that we had for Halo 5 was to bring that into focus and support it through the story," Holmes said via GameZone.
Meanwhile, the developers also revealed some of the Covenant vehicles, players will find in "Halo 5," GameSpot reports.
The report suggests that the trademark Halo vehicles like the Banshee and Wraith will look and perform differently than its previous installments. For instance, Banshee will now feature an energy shield. On the other hand, the updated Ghost will offer a better level or protection and performance. The Wraith will be smaller this time, but it will come with a better speed.
For those wondering why the trademark vehicles were upgraded: "During Halo 5: Guardians, the Sangheili are embroiled in a massive civil war that tears apart their homeworld of Sanghelios," the developers explain. "In these tumultuous times both the Covenant and Swords of Sanghelios have reopened long-dormant manufacturing facilities and turned to allied colonies to provide much-needed vehicles and munitions."
"Halo 5" will be released on Oct. 27 exclusively for Xbox One
