A road-rage incident in Polk County, Oregon, turned deadly last week when a driver fatally shot 45-year-old dad Dennis Anderson. The victim was driving with his wife, Brandy Goldsbury, along Highway 18 in the Van Duzer Corridor around 9 p.m. on July 13 when a car started following the couple, Fox News reported.
According to a GoFundMe page set up for Anderson's funeral expenses, the vehicle driver was behaving erratically, engaging them dangerously and attempting to force the couple's vehicle off the road.
The Oregon State Police said the dad of three pulled over to let the driver pass, at which point the suspect got out of his vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victim. The gunshots proved fatal as Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anderson shielded his wife from a spray of bullets
The GoFundMe page also stated that Goldsbury was not hit, likely due to her husband's body sheltering her from a spray of bullets. The page also mentioned that the aftermath of the violent and unprovoked attack could not be measured, yet Goldsbury and the kids want Anderson to be remembered not for how he died but for how he lived.
He was described as a kind and funny man who wanted nothing more than to make others laugh. Goldsbury said her husband was a committed and dedicated father who loved his children above all else but was also a goofball. She added that Anderson would do anything for his family, even delivering pizza for extra money during the COVID pandemic.
Goldsbury told Oregon Live in an interview that her husband sprayed wiper fluid on his windshield while driving, which may have gotten on the other driver's vehicle, which according to police, was a black BMW Series 3.
Oregon State Police described the suspect as a younger male who is less than 25 years old. He is small in stature with short dark hair and has a medium complexion. An investigation into the victim's killing remains ongoing.

Cops from multiple agencies responded to the vicinity of the crime when it happened, but they did not manage to locate the suspect's vehicle. Police officers also detained one individual who matched the suspect's description, but that person has since been released.
According to the GoFundMe page, Goldsbury and her children will be called upon to mount the nearly impossible in the weeks and months ahead. The page mentioned that it would be of immense help if their concerns were not related to the catastrophic implications of losing a father's income as they mourn his presence moment to moment and grapple with the shock of their new reality.
Goldsbury is currently employed at Oregon Health and Science University's Abdominal Organ Transplant Division. The GoFundMe stated that now it is Goldsbury and her children who could use a little help.
