The family of Erica Johnson, a 36-year-old Florida mom who disappeared after boarding a bus bound for Tampa, is growing worried that something bad happened to her after she displayed concerning behavior before going missing.
According to People, Johnson's family reported her missing to the police on Thursday, July 14, 2022. However, CCTV cameras in a bus station in Cape Coral captured her boarding a bus to Tampa on Friday, July 8. That was her last known sighting.
Johnson was carrying a travel pillow, her pet bunny, and a suitcase. Cape Coral police, however, initially found no foul play in her disappearance. The Florida mom lives a different lifestyle than most people as she has no bank account, car, or social media account and hardly uses her phone.
However, the investigators had to upgrade her case after obtaining information that classified her as a "missing and endangered adult."

Erica Johnson skipped seeing her kids, changed her hair color
According to WINK News, the Florida mom displayed a few indicators that something unusual was happening. Before her disappearance, Johnson canceled plans to see her children with her ex-husband, which was very unusual as she always looked forward to this. She texted her ex-husband that she was needed at work. Johnson was employed as a house cleaner.
Friends also said that Johnson decided to cut and dye her blonde hair in a darker shade around July 4. She went to work after that Independence Day holiday but then left with a co-worker after she explained that she was feeling sick. She asked the co-worker to drive her to the bus stop.
Her family became alarmed about her disappearance after realizing that she wasn't in her cleaning shift at the Best Western Plus Beach Resort on July 14. Police then searched her rented room inside an office complex within the downtown area of Cape Coral. Investigators said that most of her belongings are still there.
Johnson's mother said that she was shocked and devastated by the disappearance. The police said that Johnson's behavior showed that she might be in a "stressful moment," thus her case was elevated across law enforcement agencies.
The Cape Coral Police Department welcomes any leads to the Florida mom's disappearance by calling 239-574-3223.
No external marks on the body of the Texas mom who went missing
Meanwhile, in another missing mom's case, the investigators into Christina Powell, the Texas mom who was reported missing in early July, said the were no external marks on her decomposing body. Her remains were discovered at a mall parking lot on Saturday, July 23.
CCTV footage indicated that Powell never got out of her car and was alone when she pulled into the mall's parking area. The Bexar County Medical Examiner said that she could have died due to hyperthermia or overheating as it was more than 100 degrees on the day she went missing, on July 5.
Powell's mom, Claudia Mobley, said that her daughter might have been suffering from anxiety and wasn't feeling well that day, which was escalated by the weather. She doesn't believe speculations that the Texas mom took her own life.
A long-time medical examiner, Dr. Michael Baden, told Fox News that if Powell had bullet wounds or trauma, or if the autopsy discovered a heart condition, this would have been released for public information. However, as no cause has yet been circulated to the press, Baden believes that toxicology tests may have been done to determine if she had lethal drugs in her body.
