The "Varsity Blues" Actor, James Van Der Beek, and his actress wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, have been open about their experience with pregnancy loss over the years.
In her 2020 appearance on "The Make Down" podcast, Kimberly mentioned that she had five miscarriages in nine years and called her last two recent pregnancy losses extreme. The miscarriage she experienced in November made her think she was about to die as she lost tons of blood and her consciousness over and over again. The producer of "Teenage Paparazzo" said that she had been taking time to heal as she still mourns the loss of her babies.
In an Instagram post on August 19, James reflected on the occurrences in his life for the past two years, including his family's ups and downs and difficulties. In the first photo he posted, he was posing with his son, taken in December 2019, while in the second photo, taken in August 2022, he posed with his two children. The "Dawson's Creek" actor explained that the first photo was when they had lost a baby 18 weeks into pregnancy, and in the process, he also almost lost his wife, Kimberly. He also revealed that he had been eliminated that time from season 28 of "Dancing with the Stars," which happened to be one of his projects that did not go well, per TODAY.
Trusting the process as healing will come on its own
The actor and his family revealed they decided to rent an RV, traveled with no real plan, and ended up staying next to a river, as shown in the photos shared by the actor. Aside from their family enjoying the unplanned vacation, the couple also got the chance to realize some things in life that made them become better persons.
"And thus began the process - not necessarily of healing - but of being present," adding there is beauty in nearly everything and realizing that there is also learning in every experience as well as accepting being in a process in which he did not understand at first. After everything and more than two years later, they went to the same spot with a brand new baby boy, per US Magazine.
