The Beard sisters have different tastes. While eight-year-old Belle loves to play with her American Girl dolls, three-year-old Briar Rose has found comfort in a terrifying baby doll she discovered at a Spirit Halloween.
Mom Brittany spoke to TODAY about her daughter's fascination with the spooky baby doll. While the 33-year-old Groveland, Florida native is not a fan of horror and Halloween, she still decided to take her family to the seasonal costume shop on Monday, August 22, to just browse.
There, her youngest child spotted the infamous doll, which she has now affectionally dubbed "Creepy Chloe." The doll wears dirty clothes with cracks painted on its skin. Those features do not scare Briar, who calls her doll simply Chloe.
Mom's Facebook post about Creepy Chloe goes viral
The mom of two shared the newest toy of her daughter in a hilarious post on Facebook on August 26. She documented some of Briar and Chloe's recent adventures at Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Beard shared several pictures of Briar posing with Creepy Chloe in the post, including multiple shots from a photoshoot she had done at the theme park.
Brittany wrote in the post that this is what it looks like when you take your three-year-old to the Spirit Halloween store, and she insists on buying the creepiest baby doll you have ever set eyes on. She added that her daughter insisted that she was the doll's mommy and it needed her. The mom said Briar named her doll Chloe. The mother nicknamed her Creepy Chloe and said she is pretty sure the doll is stealing her soul when she sleeps.
As part of the family's trip to Disney World, Briar insisted that her doll get to wear a princess dress as well. The mom gave in to her daughter's request, saying creepy babies need Disney magic too. For her child to fit with the spooky theme, Beard ended up dressing Briar in a Haunted Mansion outfit.
Briar and Creepy Chloe are inseparable
While the Beards are not as fond of Creepy Chloe as Briar, it was love at first sight for the young child in Spirit Halloween. Brittany explained that though her youngest daughter loves regular baby dolls when she saw Creepy Chloe in the store's aisles, she decided she had to have it.
In the week since the spooky doll joined the Beard family, she has been on quite a few adventures as Briar's favorite sidekick. They enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe on Thursday, August 25, where a manager and waiter approached Brittany and immediately brought the pastry chef out to meet Creepy Chloe and Briar.
The pastry chef, who loves Halloween, even had a special surprise for the young kid. She gave Briar an edible poster for the Haunted Mansion and a custom Halloween-themed cupcake.
